Greek authorities have implemented a new control system for entry and exit to and from European Union countries. The new system carries out facial photography and the collection of fingerprints for every traveler crossing the border.

As a result of the new procedures, queues have formed in recent hours at the Kristapoligji border crossing, where citizens traveling from Albania to Greece are forced to wait more than two hours to cross the border.

Sources at the border report that the verification process requires more time for each traveler, leading to a significant slowdown in traffic, especially during peak hours.

Authorities are urging travelers to plan their journeys carefully and to remain patient, while the situation is expected to normalize once the new control procedures are fully implemented and adapted to.
