RAI journalist Sigfrido Ranucci spoke this Wednesday on the Now program on Euronews Albania, hosted by Erla Mëhilli, regarding suspicions surrounding the recent attack against him in Italy.
Ranucci revealed that he had been threatened by a mafia member in Padua, who, according to him, had hired Albanian hitmen to intimidate him.
“As I said, we have no evidence indicating that this act originated from the Albanian criminal world. We have also discussed criminal organizations in Rome. For example, I took protective measures because an inmate in Padua, connected to the ’Ndrangheta, had spoken with some Albanian hitmen to have me killed.
That was the reason. I have not received any threats from the Albanian mafia,” Ranucci stated.
