Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke on Tuesday from the Palace of Congresses during the WB6–European Union Investment Forum, which also hosted the 2025 Regional Artificial Intelligence Hackathon.

According to the head of government, the forum brought together 161 participants from across the Western Balkans and the diaspora, with the aim of developing practical, AI-based solutions for real social challenges.

In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government is open to collaborating with innovators and revealed plans to establish a powerful accelerator in support of Minister of AI, Diella.

“We have agreed to move forward by opening the doors of the government to all innovators and creating a shared space centered around the recently established Agency of Excellence. This means that startups and innovators will be able to access institutions, observe challenges firsthand, and use data and statistics as the foundation for AI-based solutions.

I believe that by doing this, as always happens in this field, we will learn many new things from one another and produce new products. Our challenge now is to create a strong accelerator to support Diella, the AI minister—an accelerator that will rely on you, the human capital within AKSHI. We will work to expand every institution’s capacity through AI. That’s the plan. I was told that 161 ideas have been submitted, and the competition will continue,” said Rama.
