Prime Minister Edi Rama addressed the public debate and social media speculation regarding the Spring Bonus for pensioners, reaffirming that the payment will be made as planned.
In a post on Twitter, Rama published the government’s decision and denied claims that the bonus would not be distributed. He also announced the exact date for the disbursement, which is set for March 1, 2025.
“Not only do I not lie, but I speak with full responsibility when it comes to the duty entrusted to me by the people. Since some have made accusations their vision, slander their program, and lies their guiding force—spreading false claims that there will be no bonus for pensioners—here is the truth! The decision for the bonus was made back on January 9, and the distribution starts on March 1. Let pensioners enjoy it, and may God see and judge those who toy with their nerves,” Rama wrote.
The bonus decision had already been approved by the government, but social media speculation had raised doubts about its execution.
With this statement, the Prime Minister clarified that the payment will proceed as scheduled, putting an end to uncertainty surrounding the issue.
