The ITB Berlin 2025 opening ceremony kicked off this Monday in Germany, featuring Albania as one of the participating countries.
Albania was honored with the inauguration of the world’s largest tourism fair, where Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered a speech at the opening event. The fair hosts 5,800 exhibitors from hundreds of countries worldwide.
“Have you ever heard of a law in a country that declares our homes belong to God and to the guest? Such a law existed in medieval Albania. The peak of Albanian hospitality was demonstrated during World War II, when Albania became the only country in the world with more Jews after the war than before.
We have been and remain a country of Muslims, Orthodox, and Catholics, yet when we had to choose between the Jews and the devil, our ancestors stood by the Jews, risking their lives and refusing to hand over even a single soul to the Nazis.
Whoever knocks on the door of an Albanian does so by the will of God. By opening our doors, we welcome a guest who is treated like a deity. If you want to feel like gods, come to Albania.”
