Prime Minister Edi Rama, present at the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia, said that the situation created by Russian aggression against Ukraine has contributed to changing the EU’s perception of enlargement.
“There is something I say from the first day regarding the expansion; it’s Vladimir Putin, it was Vladimir Putin’s hard work to occupy a country to help the EU understand that it lives in a parallel world,” said Rama.
Rama praised the commitment of the EU and the personal one of the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, for a common European market, which, as he said, is going on the right path.
“These parallel worlds are coming together and what Ursula said is encouraging, because 1 year ago she promised the new growth plan, which has already been put on the right track and we are hopeful that even more things will happen”, said Rama.
