Ogerta Manastirliu, the Socialist Party’s candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, was the first guest of the new season of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s podcast “Flasim” (“Let’s Talk”).
During the conversation, Rama explained the reason why he decided to nominate Manastirliu as the candidate for Mayor of Tirana.
“From all the surveys we conducted, Manastirliu was the mayor that the majority of people wanted,” said Rama.
“You know very well that we have carried out continuous surveys and we know what people think about various topics and concerns — and, in a certain way, we also know how to interpret them. And in this specific case, in all the surveys and in every form of opinion testing, you were the mayor that the majority wanted, with a clear margin over any other name we tested. And I even have witnesses for that. That’s why I had no reason to question it, even though I still would have asked; but this time, it was even simpler.
I believe Tirana will not only have its first-ever woman mayor in its history, but also a mayor who will be among those people who have made history in this city,” Rama said.
