On the second day of his visit to Japan, Prime Minister Edi Rama met with his counterpart, Fumio Kishida.

After the meeting, the prime ministers agreed to strengthen relations between the two countries, especially in the economic field.

“We made an assessment of the situation of relations between the two countries, including the import of tuna from Albania, as well as the establishment of the Albania-Japan Chamber of Commerce. We are hopeful that with Prime Minister Rama’s visit this time we will have an incentive for exports from Albania as well as investments from Japan,” said the Japanese Prime Minister.

Alongside his counterpart, Rama had a request for the government in Tokyo.

“Hopefully the Japanese government will soon make it possible for Albanians to travel visa-free to Japan, as the Japanese can already do to Albania, we look forward to strengthening this cooperation,” said Rama.
