Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with Christine Grahn, Head of Government Relations and Public Policy for TikTok in Europe, during his visit to Davos, where the World Economic Forum is taking place.

In a Facebook post, Rama stated that the meeting focused on addressing the concerns that led to the Albanian government’s decision to temporarily block access to the platform.

“We raised the concerns that prompted the temporary suspension of access to the platform from Albania, and we also listened to the possible solutions the company proposed to address them. It was an entirely open and constructive discussion, where we established some cooperation milestones for the coming weeks and months to ensure TikTok’s reopening as soon as reasonably possible, but, of course, with all necessary guarantees. In the absence of these guarantees, we would be forced to permanently restrict access to the platform,” Rama said.
