Albania is gearing up to participate in the 2024 world water racing championships.

Prime Minister Edi Rama engaged in discussions this Thursday with FORMULA 1H2O organizers, where it was revealed that Albania will be part of the 2024 global water racing circuit. Lake Pogradec will join other renowned water racing locations like Italy, France, Spain, Dubai, Indonesia, China, and more.

The forthcoming world water race scheduled for Pogradec in the coming year is anticipated to draw an even larger crowd to this picturesque lakeside city.

Earlier, Prime Minister Rama shared a video snippet from these thrilling aquatic races.

“With Formula 1 in the world water racing, slated for Pogradec in July 2024, serving as a precursor to the Formula 1 car races that will grace Elbasan in a few years, once we’ve finalized the circuit and completed all necessary tests, I wish you all a fantastic day,” expressed Rama on his social media platforms.

“Featuring 43 teams hailing from around the globe, Pogradec is set to transform into the worldwide hub for aquatic sports over 7 incredible days. Tourist Albania has truly ascended to a new level,” continued Rama.

The world water racing event, known as the Pogradec Grand Prix 2024, is slated for July 2 to July 7, 2024, making it a significant highlight during the upcoming tourism season.
