Prime Minister Edi Rama will pay a working visit to Jerusalem, Israel, from January 25–27, on the occasion of his participation in the International Conference on Combating Antisemitism.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office press service, the head of government will be accompanied by members of the Albanian delegation and his wife, Linda Rama.
Agenda of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s visit to Israel
On Monday, January 26, from 11:00 to 12:30, Prime Minister Rama will hold a one-on-one meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, followed by a meeting between the two delegations. The meetings will conclude with a joint press statement.
At the same time, Mrs. Linda Rama, accompanied by Mrs. Herzog, the wife of Israeli President Isaac Herzog, will visit the National Library.
At 2:00 PM, Prime Minister Rama, accompanied by Mrs. Linda Rama, will arrive at the Knesset Plaza, the Israeli Parliament, where he will be welcomed with a special state ceremony by the Speaker of the Knesset. The ceremony will include an honor guard, the playing of the national anthems, and the laying of wreaths at the monument to fallen soldiers and the monument to victims of terrorism.
Afterwards, Prime Minister Rama will sign the Guest Book in the Chagall Hall.
At 2:30 PM, Prime Minister Rama and the Albanian delegation will meet with the Speaker of the Knesset, Mr. Amir Ohana.
At 4:15 PM, a special plenary session of the Knesset will begin, accompanied by a ceremonial entrance into the chamber. During this session, speeches will be delivered by the Speaker of the Knesset, Amir Ohana, the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Leader of the Opposition, Yair Lapid, as well as Prime Minister Edi Rama, who will address the Israeli Parliament with a historic speech under a special protocol reserved by the Knesset for a limited number of foreign leaders, most recently including U.S. President Donald J. Trump.
At 5:15 PM, an official reception will be held in honor of Prime Minister Rama, with the participation of ambassadors and special guests, at the Jerusalem Hall of the Knesset. Meanwhile, Mrs. Linda Rama will hold a separate meeting with women members of parliament.
On January 27, Prime Minister Edi Rama will take part in the International Conference on Combating Antisemitism, where he will deliver a speech in the presence of Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
During his stay in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Rama will also carry out symbolic visits to the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
