Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke on this Sunday’s podcast about his special visit to Israel. As an honorary guest at the plenary session of the Israeli Parliament, Rama described the moment as a high recognition for Albania.
“This week I was in Israel, invited as an honorary guest to the plenary session of parliament, an honor that is granted rarely and that carries extraordinary political and historical weight, from the perspective of that country’s politics. In Jerusalem, it was Albania that was placed on the pedestal of exceptional respect and, beyond the great personal emotion, even stronger was the national emotion, because that invitation was a great recognition for Albania and its history, for our grandparents and the way they behaved when history put humanity to the test, and of course for what Albania is today on the international stage. My words in Israel were the words of a people who once did not hand over anyone,” Rama said.
