Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the new commercial port will lead to a great development for the city of Durres.

During his speech at the presentation of the project, Rama said that thanks to the work that will be done by the Dutch studio Royal Haskoning, all the roads of the Western Balkans will lead to Durres, setting a parallel with the old saying of the Roman Empire that all roads lead to Rome.

“I thank all the representatives of the countries interested in this project. I want to express a special thanks to the master who came back from the Netherlands, Erik Oostwegel, who for the sake of truth has lit the way for us with an unparalleled skill that embodies the world-renowned experience and knowledge of the Royal Haskoning company. 

This makes us feel confident that the old saying of the Roman Empire that all roads lead to Rome, thanks to Eric and Royal Haskoning’s teams of engineers and analysts will make all roads in the Western Balkans lead to Durres” , the head of the government emphasized.
