Prime Minister Edi Rama said in a joint conference with the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in the framework of her visit to Tirana, that the start of negotiations with the EU is a challenge that Albania will take to the end with determination.
He thanked Chief Commissioner Von der Leyen without whose support, as he pointed out, this day would not have come for Albania.
“We are very determined to succeed in this new challenge. It is now a question of a series of tasks, with thousands, tasks that must be translated into laws, by-laws, but also into evidence of implementation. It is a special visit that today after the conference we will greet the students of the College of Europe in Tirana. I am here to confirm all that Albania has demonstrated by standing side by side with the EU, aligned 100 percent with the EU’s foreign policy. I want to close with a special thank you because without your determination and the unsparing support of the European Commission, this day would not have come”, said Rama.
