Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, speaking at the promotion of the book “When Silence Speaks” by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Shala, stated that Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, was “threatened” for two years by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in The Hague.
According to Rama, these alleged threats came after Osmani refused to allow prosecutors to search for evidence of crimes against humanity within the Office of the President in Pristina. Rama described such investigative actions at the Presidency as a violation of the institution.
“Now, this may be a state secret here in Kosovo, but it is not a state secret for me that the President of Kosovo was threatened. And you do not know this because it has never been said before, but I am saying it today.
She was threatened because she did not allow prosecutors to violate the office of the institution of the President of Kosovo, under the pretext that they would search there as well for evidence of crimes against humanity. Naturally, that would have placed Kosovo in the eyes of the world as a state where even in the President’s office evidence of crimes against humanity could be found.
The threats against the President lasted for two years. But, for her honor and the honor of Kosovo, she prevented such a thing,” Rama said.
