Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that there will never be a step back in the government’s policy regarding judicial reform and the fight against corruption.

He dismissed any possibility of an agreement with the opposition and Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha to dissolve SPAK or halt efforts for further reforms.

Speaking at a meeting with the Socialist Assembly of units 5, 6, 13, and 14 in Tirana this afternoon, Rama acknowledged that there are issues within the Socialist Party but stressed that the fight against corruption is an internal battle and that no individual outside the party can demand accountability for it.

According to him, this process is a deep commitment of the Socialist Party and not imposed by external factors such as the United States.

“We must bring Albania into the EU. This is the moment that will change everything and bring about a colossal transformation,” Rama said, adding that once Albania becomes an EU member, the country’s status will change, and there will no longer be opportunities to obstruct developments.

Rama also commented on the attempts of DP leader Sali Berisha, who seeks the dissolution of SPAK, stating that this is impossible and that the institution has reached this point thanks to the Socialist Party’s commitment.

“SPAK is here and will remain. It is not the Americans who sustain it; it is the Socialist Party,” Rama said.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister emphasized that the fight against corruption is an effort that must continue uninterrupted and without compromises with those who oppose this process.
