The leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, will convene the National Assembly of the Socialist Party this Monday afternoon.

The Assembly’s proceedings are expected to start at 16:30.

The Assembly is of particular interest because voices for changes in the government cabinet have never been denied by the leaders of the SP headquarters.

“Reflections and the circulation of thoughts and ideas on the threshold of a new season of reforms and self-renewal,” Prime Minister Rama declared in Tepelena in the end of July, following a two-day cabinet meeting.

Last week, Rama responded during a press conference that all government changes will be addressed in Monday’s Assembly.

It is also expected that the new secretaries of the party will be appointed after the dismissal that took place at the last meeting.

Currently, only the Secretary-General has been chosen, and it is not known whether he will continue to hold this position or if there will be a vote for this position.

In the last assembly of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri was dismissed and replaced by Blendi Klosi.

There are also expected to be changes in terms of the political leaders of the Socialist Party in the regions.

After the Assembly, the Socialist Party will hold an extraordinary congress at the end of September.
