Prime Minister Edi Rama visited Durana Tech Park to witness firsthand the development of Albania’s largest technology center. The park is expected to create 5,000 jobs through the involvement of both Albanian and international companies.

Durana Tech Park has officially begun operations with the distribution of certificates to its first resident companies, marking a significant step forward for the technological sector in Albania. Prime Minister Rama expressed confidence that the area will become a powerful hub for innovation.

“Let’s make Albania a leader in electronic public services. Today, what once seemed utopian is becoming a reality—such as accelerating the EU negotiation process with the help of AI. We’re now working with Microsoft and partners from 16 different countries to develop a model for AI-driven public procurement without human involvement. This will be ready by the end of next year. Durana Tech Park is coming to life beyond the paperwork, with the main goal of engaging as many talented Albanians as possible,” said Rama.

He emphasized that Durana Tech Park will play a key role in advancing electronic public services and announced that a new model of Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration into public administration will soon be introduced.

“Durana Tech Park is a destination designed for Albanian talent and youth, offering them an encouraging perspective to realize their potential. We conducted an extensive analysis, carefully reviewing European legislation and studying how similar parks have worked in other countries. I believe we have created a unique framework, borrowing the best practices. Today, this park is leading a digital revolution that will continue. Soon, we will present another AI model for public services. What’s pleasantly surprising is the growing interest not only from public institutions but also from Italian universities and others,” Rama added.

Located in Xhafzotaj, Durrës, Durana Tech Park aims to become a central hub for technological investment. Initially, 50 companies have expressed interest in becoming part of the park.
