During his word at the Prespa Forum in Ohrid, the PM of Albania, Edi Rama called for greater collaboration between the countries of the region so that we “aren’t held hostage by the decision-making process of EU and other older conflicts”.
While bringing to the attention the conflicts that still exist in the region, like the one between Kosovo and Serbia, the head of state said that this conflict shouldn’t impede other countries of the region from moving forward and developing.
“We have problems in this region, we have conflicts that need solutions. However, the conflict between Kosovo and Serbia, should hamper other countries’ development too.
And until we try and solve this conflict, there are many other things that we can do together, and in the meantime, this can become a less difficult issue to solve,” said PM Rama.
According to PM Rama, the best way to improve the lives of citizens in countries of the region is the bring down barriers between people, goods and capital.
