Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that within a few weeks the minimum wage will increase to 40,000 ALL.
In a meeting with students, he confirmed that there will be no lower salary than that, neither in the public nor in the private sector.
“I want to tell you a secret that we are here between us and maybe it is the right thing to share with you before other random words that the minimum wage will soon go to 40 thousand ALL. When I say very soon I mean a matter of weeks and it will apply to everyone. We don’t want to have a salary lower than 40,000 ALL either in the public or private sector,” Rama declared.
The Prime Minister also added that with this mechanism they claim that within 2 years the minimum wage will increase to 45,000 ALL.
