Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo and deputy of PDK, Enver Hoxhaj, commented on the draft statute for the Association, which Edi Rama handed over to Germany and France.

He has declared that the effort of the Albanian prime minister is aimed at helping Kosovo.

“I think that Rama with his proposal is trying to fulfill the interests of the state of Kosovo at a time that is critical and the risk of harming these interests. My fear is that the way Kurti is managing the situation in the north of the country, we may move towards a complete protectorate, which as a product may have territorial autonomy”, said Hoxhaj.

Hoxha appreciated that Prime Minister of Albania has constantly supported Kosovo on its way. “First of all, I welcome and greatly appreciate the contribution of Prime Minister Rama and Albania, of course, has played a role in the past and should play a role today in overcoming the situation. Secondly, the Association is not an invention of Prime Minister Rama, it is an obligation from 2013, for which I was also at the time it was created. If they were created in 2013 in 2023, they would not have these problems that we have today”, he said.

According to him, Prime Minister Kurti has accepted the formation of the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian Majority.

“Kurti has accepted the Association in the seventh point with a new self-management package. And in my view as the deputy speaker of the Assembly, I think that Prime Minister Rama’s initiative should have support in Kosovo”, said Hoxhaj.
