The regional memorial hospital of Fier promised by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan this January is ready to open its doors in a few days.
Albania’s Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu showed off the hospital premises and said that there will be 398 medical staff employed, of which 56 will be Turkish.
“There are about 700 applicants going through a selection phase. The innovation in this hospital is that there will be a collaboration with Turkish colleagues”, said the minister.
In part, the hospital will provide services for infectious diseases, including COVID-19 patients.
Hospital autonomy will be applied in the Regional Hospital of Fier, a first for the country, meaning that medical personnel will be paid according to the number of visits and surgeries.
