Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said during a visit in Pogradec, a city located in southeastern Albania, said that more vaccines are expected to arrive this week, and maintained once again his stance that the electoral rallies of the Democratic Party are “irresponsible” in light of a pandemic.
Accompanied by Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu, Rama said that the supply will make it possible to “carry on with the massive vaccination campaign”.
“This week, a considerable number of vaccines that is arriving will enable the continuation of the massive vaccination campaign and also guaranteeing that when the second dose will be due for citizens, they will be ready. I believe that this week we’ll have other news, for another significant batch”, said Rama.
The Prime Minister said for Euronews Albania that the opposition’s approach is not right and emphasized that his critics are “not an expression of his jealousy for the being able to attract large crowds”.
“Without a doubt, a party like ours can gather a massive number of people, but that would be completely irresponsible, although vaccines are a fatal weapon against the invisible army if it not carried in conjunction with distancing, or with neither, it makes our job harder”, said Rama.
Euronews Albania journalist Xhensil Shkëmbi also asked the prime minister whether he will step down from the party’s leadership in case the Socialists lose the elections, to which the Albanian Prime Minister did not respond and just waved goodbye.
During a pronunciation for the media, PM Rama and health minister Manastirliu called on citizens to enroll on e-Albania, the government’s portal, in order to leave an appointment for their vaccination, as well as confirmed that more vaccine supplies are expected in the upcoming days.
