From year to year, the number of road accidents continues to increase. According to official INSTAT data, 123 accidents were registered in April alone, this figure is 78% higher than April of last year.

Statistics experts have highlighted that 164 people were injured in these accidents, some of whom died.

They indicate that in addition to the increasing number of accidents, mortality has decreased.

In the first 4 months of 2024, the death rate in road accidents is 10.8 per 100 accidents, from 17.8 in the same period a year ago.

The non-implementation of road traffic rules and especially the speed exceeding the permitted rates is the cause of accidents in 84.6% of cases.

The highest number of accidents was committed by the 25-34 age group, accounting for 29.3% of the total number of accidents.

In April 2024, the highest number of road accidents occurred on Monday with 23.5%, while the lowest number of accidents occurred on Saturday, with 9.8%.
