The Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement in the EU, Oliver Varhelyi, spoke at a press conference about the benefits of the roaming agreement signed between the EU countries and countries of the Western Balkans.
In his speech, he said that both businesses and citizens benefit from this agreement.
“The operators have signed today’s agreement, they are the ones who make up the majority of the telecommunications traffic between the EU and the Western Balkans. I am more than sure that they are not only the majority, but they will become the overwhelming majority during this agreement. This pledge. Citizens will start using it more. Citizens and businesses will benefit greatly. From the first step they witnessed and we have to take a look. The first step was that the Western Balkans region agreed to impose lower tariffs within the region, this shows a trend that will continue and multiply in particular cases. The reduction of roaming charges is a good business opportunity for operators, but it is also an important task for us in the region to create and design the regulatory framework with the EU. Not only in terms of prices but also with the terms and conditions”, said Varhelyi.
