NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that they expect Serbia to bring to justice those responsible for the terrorist attack in Banjska. Rutte responded to journalists before the meeting of NATO foreign ministers, adding that he has also discussed this matter with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. According to Rutte, Vučić has said that he will work toward this.

“My predecessor worked on this with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić. I have also personally spoken with him, and he told me he will work on it, and we expect the Serbian authorities to do their part in this regard,” Rutte said.

In September 2023, a terrorist group from Serbia carried out an attack in Banjska, Zvečan, in which Kosovo Police officer Afrim Bunjaku was killed.
The leader of this group was the former vice-chairman of the Serb List, Milan Radoičić. The Special Prosecution of Kosovo has filed an indictment against 45 members of this group. Kosovo has requested that Radoičić and the other members be handed over by Serbia.
