The government has approved salary increases for public administration employees.
The decision was taken during the meeting of the Council of Ministers and was announced by the Minister of Finance, Ervin Mete.
135 thousand employees of the administration will benefit from this decision, which will start to be applied from July 1.
“With the approval of the decisions today, we advance the second phase of the salary increase policy, starting in 2023, which will benefit about 135,000 employees in the administration. Through the implementation of this policy, the average salary in the public sector is intended to reach 105 thousand ALL. The increased salaries start to be applied in the second 6 months of the year, i.e. starting from July 1, with an estimated cost of nearly 11 billion lek for this second 6 month of the year and with a total budget cost of nearly 40 billion lek.
From this policy benefit:
Employees of the pre-university education system;
Employees of the health system;
Employees of the country’s security system:
- State police
- Prison Police
- Guard of the Republic
- Armed forces
- Fire protection and rescue
As well as employees of the implementation and support level of the state administration.
Also, with the approved legal changes, it is foreseen to realize the indexation of all salaries in the public administration with the inflation rate in force, an indexation that will be realized continuously every two years, starting from the year 2026″, said Mete.
