100 xylographic illustrations bearing the name of Salvador Dali are displayed for the first time in an exhibition at the “Naan” gallery in Tirana.
The exhibition titled “Divine Dream” (Ëndrra hyjnore) is curated by Zef Paci and Ajola Xoxa and features the work Dali used to illustrate Dante Alighieri’s “Divine Comedy”.
World art critics consider this to be the most important and most elaborate group of works by Salvador Dali, which has also been exhibited in France.
The exhibition is divided into three groups like the “Divine Comedy”: Hell and purgatory on the first floor of the gallery and heaven on the second floor.
Along with the exhibition, a detailed documentary was made, while the gallery also has a room dedicated especially to young people and children.
Salvador Dali had an artistic repertoire that included painting, sculpture, film, graphic arts, animation, fashion and photography, sometimes in collaboration with other artists.
He also wrote poetry, autobiography, essays and criticism. Major themes in his work include dreams, the subconscious, sexuality, religion, science and his closest personal relationships.
The exhibition will remain open to the public daily until February 12, 2025.
