The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo, tops the list of cities with the most polluted air in the world, according to data from the AirVisual platform, which collects information from monitoring stations worldwide.
Following Sarajevo, Lahore in Pakistan, Kolkata in India, and Belgrade in Serbia are also ranked high.
According to categories, the air in Sarajevo is very hazardous, while in the others, it is unhealthy.
“People suffering from heart and lung diseases, pregnant women, children, and the elderly should avoid any outdoor activities. Everyone else should avoid prolonged outdoor exposure,” according to the organization Ecoakcija, which gathers data on air quality in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cities.
Prishtina ranks 19th, although it was 12th in the early morning hours.
This implies that the air is unhealthy for sensitive groups.
In other regional cities, Skopje is in eighth place, and Zagreb is in 13th place.
