Schools have been opening their doors for classes in North Macedonia for days.
But a not at all normal situation is happening with the students of the Vizbeg district, which is located only 5 km from Skopje.
For years, over 250 Albanian children had to walk 20 km every day to go to the schools in Çair, as the school was under construction.
But finally the school was finished and is now ready to receive the students.
This is where the wonder happens, the school is just an object, since there are no teachers there.
A parent we met at the school even today came back depressed because there was no one to accept the documents for her child’s registration.
“Now I have the document in my hand, the director was not here. Later we will see what is happening,” says the parent.
Only the director of the school comes to work, while the decision of the Ministry of Education is awaited, which must decide on the basis of the school’s request for the employment of 21 teachers.
“We have to be a little more patient. I hope that even this week in an accelerated procedure we will complete all the procedures so that finally all the children can start learning,” said the school director, Kadri Elezi.
This school has been promised to the residents of Vizbeg for more than 10 years.
There is no minister who has not gone to throw a shovel at this location, but this educational institution has not yet been put into operation.
