The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that this political force is for all forms of protests and civil disobedience.
In a statement to the press from DP’s headquarters, asked by Euronews Albania about his statements in the FRPD assembly, that now “the second phase of the revolution has started” and that “we’re ready to give up our lives, but not our votes”, Berisha underlined that this will be the motto going forward.
“Absolutely, this will be our motto and only this. We will convince every Albanian that if they do not protect their vote, they will never have a future and that if they expect others to protect their vote, they are only making a fool out of themselves. Albanians must not have any illusions, if they want to stand up for themselves and protect their dignity, they must stand up for themselves, they shouldn’t expect anyone else to do so. I have great faith that a rotten system like the current one will not be able to last. We will do everything to shorten the days and life of this rot. We are for all forms of protests and civil disobedience. Civil disobedience is considered in all protest manuals as a legal form of protest,” the chief democrat emphasized.
