Kosovo will hold the second round of local elections on November 9 in 18 municipalities that went to a runoff following the first round on October 12. The electoral campaign will start on November 3 and will last for seven days.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) will send the ballot papers for voters abroad between October 26 and 29. Voting by mail will begin on October 27 and will end on November 8.

The voter list for citizens outside the country will remain the same as that of October 12.

CEC member Arianit Elshani stated that those who turn 18 years old will be included in the final voter list.

CEC Chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi said that he will communicate with the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel as well as the Supreme Court regarding appeals related to the October 12 elections. Based on these decisions, the CEC may announce the final results of the first round during this weekend.

“There are many complaints about the results for mayors and municipal assemblies,” said Radoniqi.

The CEC will also include in the final results the 16 ballot boxes that have been recounted.
