Strong reactions have arrived from Montenegro and North Macedonia for the statements of the Serbian Minister of Defense, Miloš Vučević, who compared the actions of Skopje and Podgorica when they officially recognized Kosovo, with the actions carried out earlier by Ukraine, saying that the consequences will be the same.
The first to react through a post on the Twitter social network was the Montenegrin president, Jakov Milatovic, who described as unacceptable any attempt to interfere directly or indirectly by external actors in the creation of the Government in Montenegro.
“I expect that the formation of the 44th Government will be based on the freely expressed will of the citizens in the past parliamentary elections, as well as on the program priorities that will enable the accelerated membership of Montenegro in the EU, the increase in the standard of living and construction of the rule of law”, said Jakov Milatovic, President of Montenegro.
Therefore, the official Skopje reacted through the Foreign Minister, Bujar Osmani, who, calling these statements inappropriate, emphasized that North Macedonia is for peace in the region.
“North Macedonia rejects interference and inappropriate remarks by neighboring officials. We stand for regional stability and cooperation, including Serbia and Kosovo. Awaiting clarification from the Minister of Defense of Serbia”, said Bujar Osmani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia.
Earlier yesterday, the prime minister of Albania, Edi Rama, also reacted through social networks, saying that such statements are dangerous and that the Balkan region cannot be allowed to turn back.
