For 63.7% of Albanians, pensioners are dependent on their children.

Asked by Barometer in Euronews Albania, 13.7% of Albanians think the opposite, that pensioners are not dependent on their children and 22.6% are neutral.

Those who think that the elderly are dependent on their children are more male, with 66% and 61.4% being female.

The age group that thinks the most that pensioners are dependent on their children is the 55-64 age group, followed by the 25-34 and 45-54 age groups with 65.1%.

Followed by the age group of 65-75 years, 62.2% think that pensioners are dependent on their children. 18-24-year-olds account for 61.4% and 35-44-year-olds account for 59.1%.

Among those who think that pensioners are dependent on their children, 69.7% have a low income, 67.9% have an average low income, 63.4% have an average high income and 58.7% have a high income.

The poorer people are, the more dependent they think the elderly are on their children.

Among those who think that the elderly are dependent on their children, 69.7% are from the low class, 67.9% are low-middle class, 63.4% are high-middle class, and 58.7% are from the upper high class. 

18.8% of Albanians think that the elderly are a burden on Albanian society. Meanwhile, 26.5% do not think that the elderly are a burden on society and 54.7% are neutral.

Those who think that the elderly are a burden on society are more in the age group of 65-75 years at 28.9%, followed by the age group of 55-64 years with 22.4%, 35-44 years with 18.5%, 45-54 years with 18%, 25-34 years old with 15.3% and 18-24 years old with 10.6%.

Among those who think that the elderly are a burden on society, 21.3% have a higher education, 19.4% have a secondary education and 15.6% have a basic education.
