Representatives of Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo have adopted a declaration stating that they reject and condemn any action or interference that could endanger the work and the provision of services by healthcare and educational institutions.
They requested that these issues be resolved through the dialogue on the normalization of relations, which is mediated by the European Union.
On February 12 in North Mitrovica, at the invitation of the Serb List, a joint session of Serb-majority municipalities was held. Representatives of healthcare and educational institutions operating in Serb-inhabited areas in Kosovo, which function under Serbia’s system, also participated.
“In our assessment, all open issues, including the status of these institutions, must be resolved exclusively through dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina on the establishment of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities, and we absolutely oppose violent, unilateral actions, as well as any other action that would jeopardize the functioning of these two sectors,” the declaration adopted at the meeting states.
