The Serbian government has attacked the international election missions for the positions they had regarding the election process. According to the Serbian Prime Minister, observers are lying. Meanwhile, opposition protests continue in Belgrade, demanding a repeat of the elections.
The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabič, says that the foreign observers of the December 17 electoral process are destabilizing Serbia with their positions on the elections. In an interview with the Serbian media, Brnabič said that the electoral process had no irregularities and the complaints of the opposition do not stand.
“What the opposition says about election irregularities is not true. This is a blatant attempt at destabilization. The observers who led the delegations of the European Parliament and the observation mission of the Council of Europe do not stay. What they did afterwards, all their appearances in the media, is contrary to the code of ethics of international observers”, declared Brnabič.
Representatives of international observers declared after the elections in Serbia that they had seen serious manipulations. One of them stated that he had come across photocopied ballots in a polling station.
Since Sunday, opposition protests have started in Belgrade demanding the repeat of the elections. Opposition parties have also been joined by students who have warned of strikes and blocking roads.
