The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj held a visit in Zagreb with his Croatian counterpart, Zoran Milanović.

During the joint press conference, Begaj said that the further strengthening of bilateral cooperation, the European integration agenda of Albania as well as regional developments, were in focus of what was discussed between the two leaders.

The Croatian President said that the issue of Kosovo must be resolved as soon as possible. According to him, Serbia is in “a schizophrenic political position”.

“Kosovo is a reality. Some countries have yet to accept it, but don’t know how to justify their stance. Sometimes it is good, other times it becomes dangerous. Croatia has accepted Kosovo. It is a reality. We will do everything we can to help, but never with the intention of provoking Serbia. We cannot assess what is in the interest of Serbia, but the reality is that Kosovo is a country in Europe and Serbia is in a schizophrenic political condition. On the one hand, they have a fantasy in their relations to Russia, to which Serbia is just a small tag. Relations must be directed in the right path, not towards the abyss, but to make Serbia better. I know what is in our interest and that of Albania, which is the normalization of relations. Kosovo is on the right path,” Milanović declared.
