The Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić stated that the situation in Kosovo is tense and difficult and that it has never been more difficult.

She thanked the Serbian people for remaining calm and refraining from violence. Brnabić said that the reaction of KFOR, whose task was to protect the interests and peace of the people of Kosovo, and “not the usurpers”, was late.

She said that peace is the most important thing and emphasized that by preserving peace, the survival of the Serbian people is preserved.

She added that the situation is being monitored from hour to hour and that the public will be informed about the next steps, according to Euronews Serbia reports.

Furthermore, Ana Brnabić told journalists in Rakovica that there will be no interim government, and that the government can only change in elections.

She stated that President Aleksandar Vučić is ready to discuss concrete proposals to improve security, but that the opposition only heard politics, not concrete measures.

Regarding the request for the dismissal of Bratislava Gašić and Aleksandar Vulin, the Prime Minister said that the government is not running away from political responsibility, but that this would mean the resignation of the entire government.

“We are going to the elections or the president will give the mandate to form the government to someone else. There is no reason for a transitional government and that will never happen.”
