Shemsi Prenci has withdrawn from the race of the Democratic Party’s primaries that will elect DP’s candidates for mayor in the upcoming local elections. 

The candidate of the Democratic Party for the primaries in Kamez municipality, Shemsi Prenci, has announced his exit from the race.

Through a post on his Facebook page, Prenci states that “socialists have their name on the list approved by the Chairmanship of DP Kamez, while the democrats have their name written by hand”, as he also posted a photo of what the handwritten list looks like.

Prenci writes further that under these conditions he is forced not to recognize the process and ask the PDSH for a second process, giving time to the consolidation of the electoral infrastructure in the Primaries of the Democratic Party.

“In these conditions of anarchy and in order not to become part of this electoral crap, I make public: Don’t recognize this election process! I also ask the Democratic Party of Albania to repeat the Primaries Process, respecting the DP Statute and its instructions regarding the Primaries, as I am convinced that this is the only way we will achieve a Primaries process in our party without consolidated lists which are announced 5 days before the vote “, writes Prenci.
