The son of former prime minister Sali Berisha, after leaving SPAK, gave a statement to the media where he revealed what he was summoned for by the Prosecutor’s Office.
He said that he was summoned in connection with the “Gerdec” case, while adding that what surprises him is the fact that he is summoned after 15 years by the same Prosecutor.
Berisha said that the statements he made will not help SPAK in the investigation, as he does not know anything about the serious incident in Gerdec where 26 people lost their lives.
“I have been called to be questioned as a person who may be related to the circumstances of the investigation into the Gerdec case. What I said in SPAK, I have also stated publicly. I don’t think my statements helped the investigation in question because I had no connection. I came to respect the law like any citizen. What impresses me is that after 15 years, the same prosecutor’s office thinks that I can know about the circumstances of the investigation after so many years. I think that without a doubt the Prosecutor’s Office should tell the public whose calligraphy it is. He should verify whose calligraphy it is if it is not a forgery because it is not in the original. I don’t feel threatened by SPAK” – he said.
