During his stay in Albania, the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement for the EU, Oliver Varhelyi said that there can be no accession talks if the political subjects don’t participate in Parliament.
This issue was discussed tonight during Euronews Albania’s political commentary show, ‘Shock’. Analyst Andi Bushati admitted that even though Rama “stole and destroyed the elections of April 25”, his language and his invitation for collaboration addressed to the opposition is in line with the messages being forwarded by Brussels.
“Rama is the man that massacred and stole the elections and he is saying let’s extend our hand to the opposition. So, he is in syntony with the message coming in from Brussels, but in reality, he does the complete opposite,” said Bushati.
Baton Haxhiu on the other hand stated that the internal issues of Albania, including the concerns over our local or our parliamentary elections, should be resolved by the political actors themselves instead of being laid out in front of the high officials of the EU like it has been done up to this point.
“You shouldn’t negotiate on Albania’s local matters in Europe. You shouldn’t negotiate with the main man in the EU over the local or general elections, but the European road should be opened for Albania. The time has come for them to choose Brussels, to make peace for the sake of our future. This would be ethical, for our country. No country in the region has offended itself in Brussels more than Albanians have,” he said.
