COVID-19 claimed the lives of 6 citizens in North Macedonia, taking the total death toll to 5,527.
The Ministry of Health has also raised the alarm over an increasing rate of new infections with 639 people testing positive over the past 24 hours.
Skopje has the highest number of active cases, as well as new infections, followed by Tetovo and Gostivar. The number of active cases has now reached 3,746.
Authorities believe that the new infections are attributed to the highly contagious Delta variant, and have been urging citizens to get the COVID-19 vaccine in order to avoid severe cases of the virus.
