SP and DP voters share differing opinions on the role of ambassadors in Albania

Albanian citizens describe the role of ambassadors in Albania as “acceptable”, nevertheless there is a distinction when asking voters from different parties.

The survey conducted by the prestigious company MRB concluded that 70.9% of the interviewed “completely agree” (26.6%) or “somewhat agree” (44.3%) with the role of the diplomatic corps in Tirana.

On the other hand, 24.9% “do not completely agree” with the role and attitude of the ambassadors.

Those who responded “Somewhat not agree” were at 18.2%, while those who “completely do not agree” were only at 6.7%.

Of those surveyed, 4.2% preferred not to respond to the question.

The survey results point out that there is a distinctive figure when posing the same question to voters from the SP and DP.

A predominant majority of those who cast their ballot for the Socialists agreed with the role and attitude of the representatives of the foreign missions to Albania, respectively 94.2% of them.

On the other side, the voters of the Democratic Party are divided on the matter. 44.6% agree with the role of the foreign ambassadors and 50.3% were against.

In regards to the undecided, 65% approved the role as well as the attitude of the ambassadors and only 12.1% responded negatively.

Methodology

The survey was done for Euronews Albania by the prestigious company MRB who conducted 1.000 face-to-face interviews (49.5% male, 50.5% female) in urban and rural areas with eligible voters (+18) from May 25 until June 2.
