Euronews Albania has learned that during Thursday’s plenary session, the Socialist Party will be voting against setting up an Inquiry Commission that would examine the Becchetti trial.

Sources from the meeting of SP’s parliamentary group suggest that Socialists will be voting in favor of setting up an Inquiry Commission for the ‘Incinerators’ and the ‘April 25th elections’, but they will request to reformulate the object of investigation.

A week ago, the first Leaders Conference decided to postpone the formation of these three parliamentary inquiry commissions requested by the Democratic Party.

Head of SP’s parliamentary group, Taulant Balla has declared that it is of utmost important that the parties find a consensus regarding the object of investigation, after which he is sure they can agree on future actions.

The opposition is asking to set up these three inquiry commissions, which will include investigations into the April 25th electoral process, the incinerators as well as the Becchetti trial.

The names proposed by the Democratic Party for the members of the inquiry commission for the April 25 election are: Enkelejd Alibeja, Gazment Bardhi, Oerd Bylykbashi, Ferdinand Xhaferri, Sorina Koti, Ervin Salianji and Kreshink Collaku.
