SPAK is probing into data leaked from the Pandora Papers, in connection with the offshore accounts of 330 current or former public officials, including an Albanian politician.

Sources confirmed to Euronews Albania that SPAK will decide whether launch an investigation after assessing and verifying secret data.

A massive data leakage, dubbed Pandora Papers, revealed the hidden wealth and assets of state officials from around the world, a story that is making headlines since its publication on Sunday evening.

Offshore accounts were created to secretly manage and transfer huge amounts of money, and serve to cover up the real wealth of some of the world’s most powerful people.

These include former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, close associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Czech Republic Prime Minister Andrej Babis among hundreds of others.

In the Western Balkans region, the name of an Albanian politician, Serbian officials, and Montenegrin President Milo Đukanović has been mentioned.
