Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) rejected Sali Berisha’s request for the removal of the security measure, while hearings continued for the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Berisha, Jamarbër Malltez.
GJKKO also rejected Berisha’s request for the exclusion from the case of judge Irena Gjoka.
Earlier, the lawyer of the former prime minister, Genc Gjokutaj, told for the media that they made a preliminary request for the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka, as well as requested the removal of the security measure for Sali Berisha.
Both requests filed were rejected by the court.
We remind you that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha is a person under investigation in the “Partizani” file for “Passive corruption of senior officials or local elected officials carried out in cooperation, provided for by article 260 and 25 of the Penal Code”.
For Sali Berisha, a mandatory security measure has been imposed, while his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, has been arrested for the privatization of the former Partizani complex. The security measure, obligation to appear, has also been given to the builder Fatmir Bektashi.
