The Special Appeal Court decided to leave the former mayor of Lushnje in prison bail while pending trial on abuse of office charges.
On Wednesday, the court responded to Tushe’s request to be released on bail due to medical reasons.
In the request deposited to the court, the mayor claims to be suffering from heart disease, diabetes, gallstones, as well as being allergic to specific foods.
The mayor of Lushnje was arrested together with some of his subordinates due to a corruptive affair involving an irrigation channel of nearby villages.
The former mayor has been indicted on abuse of office charges, after being arrested in July following an investigation initiated by the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime, known broadly as SPAK.
