Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime has imposed the measure of arrest and imprisonment for the General Secretary of the Ministry of Health Joana Duro and the employee Laura Sheto.

In a press release, Special Anti-Corruption Structure informs that the investigations have shown that Duro received an irregular benefit in the amount of 330,000 (three hundred and thirty thousand) LEK, to favor an Economic Operator, for winning a tender.

These monetary values ​​were given by Sheto, who is a High Level Specialist in the Agency for Provision of Integrated Public Services.

Duro and Sheto are accused of the criminal offenses “Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials” and “Active corruption of high state officials or local elected officials”.
