The space of an apartment where 44% of Albanian families currently live in during the last decade varies from 70 to 110 square meters.

This surface area coincides with 3 rooms, either in a private apartment with 1 or 2 floors or in a collective apartment building.

According to this report, the standard density of housing at the country level is about 14m2 per inhabitant.

The district of Vlora registers the highest quota of this indicator, 16.4 m2, while the smallest value is registered in the district of Kukes, with 10.5 m2.

Meanwhile, the percentage of overcrowded dwellings, which have 3 or more residents per room, is 3.8%.

The data show that 40% of the inhabited apartments are in rural areas and the rest in the city. However, the dynamics of construction development in the city are expected to change this standard, where the number of private residences with a surface area of ​​more than 120 m2 has increased, as has the demand for apartments with larger surface areas.

The increase in the volume of construction also speaks of an added value in the economy, which is said to have doubled in just 4 years.
