The Council of Ministers approved amendments on Wednesday to the Regulation on beach stations, setting maximum prices for umbrella and sunbed services on public beaches and on beaches managed by local self-government units that charge fees.

According to the decision, local authorities may approve maximum prices for each coastal zone before the start of the tourist season. The agreed prices become a mandatory part of contracts with private operators and may not be exceeded throughout the entire duration of the contract. Exceeding the maximum prices will be considered a contractual violation and may lead to the imposition of administrative measures or the termination of the contract.

The decision also aims to harmonize the management of public and privatized beaches, including monitoring noise levels, safety, and hygiene, as well as clarifying the role of the National Coastal Agency and local authorities in enforcing the regulation.

This decision enters into force after its publication in the Official Gazette.
